In Ancient Greece, Kallisa flees after her father sells her to a brothel. A secret night with the drugged demigod prince Heron marks her with a golden sun sigil and leaves her pregnant. She gives birth to Lyros, unaware that Heron is his father. Disguised as a palace laundress, she hides two taboos punishable by death: a secret child and infertility. When Apollo demands an heir or the city will lose its light, three trials expose her. Kallisa refuses to sacrifice Lyros. Apollo sees her sun mark and declares him the heir.
