Set in an American Western town in the 1960s, sweet and resilient waitress Helena Ferreira becomes pregnant by Carlos Medeiros, heir to a ranch, after a one-night stand. But her half-sister lies that she saved Carlos's life and frames Helena, who is convicted and imprisoned unjustly. Helena gives birth to her son, Eduardo, alone behind bars. Six years later, a paternity test reveals the truth. When Carlos discovers the terrible mistake of the past, he does everything he can to win Helena back and make amends. He fights beside her, defeats the guilty parties, and the three finally live happily as a real family.
