Fresh out of college, Ben develops hemorrhoids from eating too much spicy food. When he goes to the hospital for treatment, he discovers that his doctor is Heitor Figueiredo, his stepfather's son. The first digital rectal exam leaves Ben mortified. Their embarrassing doctor-patient relationship keeps bringing them together. Although Heitor seems cold and reserved on the outside, he quietly cares for Ben, reminding him to avoid spicy food and even visiting him late at night to look after him after surgery. Ben gradually falls in love with Heitor. He deliberately eats spicy dishes just for another chance to see him, and the two keep testing each other's feelings amid complicated emotional tension. Struggling with his inner conflicts, Heitor eventually pushes Ben away. Later, Ben briefly dates a woman but cannot forget Heitor. A return visit to the clinic finally breaks through the wall between them. After misunderstandings, sincere confessions, and family acceptance, they reveal their true feelings, heal each other's old wounds, move into a cozy home with a cat, and find mutual emotional healing.
